中新社天津11月7日电 (记者 王君妍)记者7日从天津市滨海新区获悉，工作人员6日在巡护天津北大港湿地自然保护区独流减河区域时，发现了中国国家一级重点保护野生动物——白枕鹤的庞大种群。经确认，此次观测到的白枕鹤种群数量高达780余只，大幅超越了2023年3月在七里海湿地观测到的140只的记录，成为天津市白枕鹤观测数量的历史新高。

据介绍，当前正值秋冬季候鸟迁徙的季节，北大港湿地作为候鸟迁徙的重要通道，过境候鸟数量已达30万余只。其中，中国国家一级保护动物东方白鹳220余只，白枕鹤780余只，卷羽鹈鹕7只；二级保护动物小天鹅1000余只，白琵鹭950余只。预计本月中下旬，将迎来候鸟迁徙的高峰期，届时鸟类数量有望突破40万只大关。
